Mereo 4 Holdings, LLC announced today the creation of COLT2 LLC, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned (“SDVOSB”) Joint Venture Company, certified by the US Veterans Administration and incorporated in the State of Texas. Initially based in Las Vegas, Nevada, Colt2 (www.colt2.com) is a US Small Business Administration (“SBA”) Mentor-Protégé joint venture; formed in compliance with 13 CFR 25.18 intended to compete for solicitations issued by the US Government, select foreign militaries and other subcontract services to US Prime Contractors.
The strategic purpose of the joint venture is to focus on special set-aside opportunities, whereby the federal government maintains a goal of awarding 3% of all federal contracting dollars to SDVOSB entities annually. In FY 2018, $20 billion of federal contracts were awarded to SDVOSBs. The Department of Veterans Affairs (“VA”) also has an objective of awarding 5% of all VA contracts to SDVOSBs, and in FY 2017 that amounted to $5 billion.
“We are very honored to participate in the SBA Mentor Protégé Program and be partnered with such a distinguished veteran as Dagoberto Rivera”, said James Clark, Chief Executive Officer of Mereo 4. “This venture will achieve multiple objectives for our customers, business partners and shareholders, but most importantly will allow Mr. Rivera to live his entrepreneurial dream of supporting his fellow servicemen and women through government contracting of products and services.”
